Chet Baker's previously unheard album
Live at London will be released on the Ubuntu Music Label on October 28.
The album documents Baker's six-night run at London's long-gone jazz venue The Canteen in 1983. Baker was in poor physical health at the time but appears in top musical form backed by pianist John Horler's Trio of drummer Tony Mann and bassist Jim Richardson. To mark the launch of the album, the same trio performed together for the first time since the 1983 concerts with Baker at London's Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club on August 22 and 23.
Originally recorded by Richardson on rudimentary equipment, the master tapes have been restored to create a clear and full sounding set of 10 songs that will be released as a double CD.
Live at London’s track list will include performances of such songs as "I Remember You," "My Funny Valentine" and "With a Song in My Heart."
