Pianist, composer and educator Geri Allen has been appointed artistic director of the Carr Center, an arts center organization located in downtown Detroit, Michigan, which primarily champions African-American culture.
Her duties will include artistic planning, education work and three performances each season as part of the center's multidisciplinary offerings.
