Savoy Jazz to reissue early Charlie Parker recordings collection on vinyl

On November 13, Savoy Jazz will be reissuing their Grammy-nominated collection of saxophonist and composer Charlie Parker’s seminal recordings from the 40’s, Charlie Parker: The Complete Savoy and Dial Studio Recordings on 180 gram vinyl in a 10 LP set.

 

The collection showcases a series of recordings released on the New Jersey-based Savoy label and Los Angeles-based Dial Records between the years 1944 and 1948. These recordings document Parker at the beginning of his career and various collaborations with a number of great artists, such as vocalist Sarah Vaughan, trumpeters Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie, drummer Max Roach, pianist Erroll Garner and more.
