Johannes Brecht

Try (0b16a9)

German producer Johannes Brecht established himself as a luminary within the electronic scene, collaborating with the likes of Solomun and Henrik Schwarz. Latest EP ‘Try’, however, sees him return to his roots as an ardent jazz lover, in a partnership with legendary Norwegian Jazz pianist, Bugge Wesseltoft. On the track, Brecht adds soft electronic and acoustic textures to complement Bugge Wesseltoft and Sidsel Endresen’s original tune. Subtle electronics, shakers and strings provide the rising and falling backdrop to Wesseltoft’s distinctive groove. The synergy between the artists, who are also long-time friends, is unmistakable and helps create a smooth harmony throughout.
