Laura Ainsworth

Top Shelf (Eclectus/Swing City Productions/Ratspack)

As the daughter of renowned big band musician Billy Ainsworth, Laura Ainsworth grew up with the Great American Songbook, watching her dad back such icons as Ella Fitzgerald and Tony Bennett. That informed her classic retro lounge/jazz sound and smooth, sultry, throwback vocal style.

Tracks from her first three award-winning albums (“Keep It To Yourself,” “Necessary Evil,” “New Vintage”) comprised the best-of vinyl LP “Top Shelf.” Its embrace by Japanese critics and jazz fans inspired this expanded CD version warmly remastered by Jessica Thompson, available in the USA as an import from Japan’s Ratspack Records and at https://shop.bandwear.com/collections/laura-ainsworth-shop
