Jack Phantom And The Exquisite Corpse Cabaret

Call Of The Void (Self)

Switching to jazz from electronica, having switched to electronica from speed metal and punk back in his youth in the 1980s, Phantom approached jazz from a different perspective and arrived from a different route. Whereas hip-hop and electronica samples from jazz to produce its works, Phantom’s done the reverse – taking a cue from Miles Davis’ techniques on “Bitches’ Brew” and using hip-hop engineering techniques to produce jazz. It’s music to be introspective to, a noir take on cool jazz.
