Aum Akua presents a never before heard combination of unique instrumentation including Indian tablas, Hawaiian percussion, African ngoni, guitars, and ambient soundscapes. The music is a tapestry of dreamy ambiance, Hawaiian, African kora, jazz, and world reminiscent of the 70s band Shakti with John McLaughlin and Zakir Hussein. Jim “Kimo” West, respected in his own right with a 2021 Grammy for More Guitar Stories, is well known as “Weird” Al Yankovic’s guitarist for 40+ years. Joss Jaffe is an LA-based multi-instrumentalist known for his ambient album Meditation Music which reached number 3 on Billboard’s New Age Chart in 2019.
