Chasing Trane, the new documentary about the life and career of saxophonist John Coltrane, will have its international premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, which takes place in Toronto, Canada from September 9 to 15.
The film is directed by John Scheinfeld and features commentary from such artists as Wynton Marsalis, Kamasi Washington and Carlos Santana as well as footage from the saxophonist’s studio sessions, live performances and home videos. In addition, it will include excerpts from print interviews by Coltrane, read by actor Denzel Washington.
Chasing Trane previously had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival in Telluride, Colorado, which ran from September 2 to 5.
