Neil Cowley announces new album with his Trio

Pianist and composer Neil Cowley has announced the release of his new concept album with his Trio, which features bassist Rex Horan and drummer Evan Jenkins. The album will be titled Spacebound Apes, and will mark the Trio’s first release in over two years.

Cowley has described the album as “an exercise in atmosphere and emotion, taking in the themes of guilt, loss and longing.” He has also anticipated that it will feature some electronics in the mix from guitarist Leo Abrahams, as well as one track with a full choir.

The trio is also scheduled to perform a concert at London’s Union Chapel on October 27. The concert will include a specially designed light show.

An advance clip of Spacebound Apes has been released, and more details on the album will be revealed in the next few months.
