Louis Armstrong’s Wonderful World Festival in Queens, New York City, July 16

The Louis Armstrong’s Wonderful World festival is set to take place on July 16 in Corona, Queens, New York City on July 16. Entering its third annual edition, the festival is presented by the Kupferberg Center for the Arts at Queens College.

This year will be headlined by singer and instrumentalist Dr. John, along with jazz-funk trio Soulive and Kermit Ruffins. They will be celebrating Armstrong’s New Orleans roots, and a host of local acts will present a variety of music.

In addition, Louis’ Backyard Bash will be taking place throughout the day and feature DJs and lounge areas in the Queens Museum and Queens Theatre, as well as family-friendly activities, recreating the memorable parties that Armstrong hosted for his friends and neighbors at his home in Corona, where he lived for almost 30 years.

Registration for the festival is free but a limited amount of preferred access tickets, which include reserved seating in front of the Main Stage and for patrons 21 and over, free access to indoor beer gardens in the Queens Museum and Queens Theatre, are also available.
