By Matt Micucci

On Friday Dec 4, at 8pm, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County and Jazz Roots – A Larry Rosen Jazz Series will celebrate the holiday season with a special performance by famed saxophonist jazz artist Kenny G. He will be performing in Kenny G 2015 Holiday Show at the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall in Miami.

Kenny G is now regarded as one of the premiere names in contemporary jazz. With a career spanning over three decades, and 23 albums, he is an Grammy Award winning artist whose albums have sold over 75 million copies – 45 million of which have been sold in the US alone – and has enjoyed a dozen climbs to the top of Billboard’s contemporary jazz charts.

His music is well known for representing a unique blend of R&B, pop and latin, all of which have influenced the foundation that has won him international acclaim.

John Richard, president and CEO of the Arsht Center, said “We look forward to presenting Kenny G, one of the world’s most popular entertainers, during the holiday season. As one of the best-selling saxophonists of our time, he personifies the diversity of the varieties of jazz we present to our oudience on our Knight Concert Hall stage each year during our Jazz Roots series”.

Jazz Roots was co-created by the Adrienne Arsht Center in 2008 in collaboration with music industry entrepeneur Larry Rosen, and presents a rich variety of thematically-based concerts exploring the spectrum of jazz. It organizes six concerts annually, and since its inception, has draws more than 70,000 jazz lovers to the Arshy Center’s Knight Concert Hall by showcasing every unique style and incarnation of jazz – from Latin jazz and fusion to bossa nova and straight ahead.

Previously, it hosted memorable evenings with such jazz superstars as George Benson, Dave Brubeck, Chick Corea, Sonny Rollins, the Count Basie Orchestra and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis among many others. As well as that, it has presented tribute programs honoring such American icons as Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane.
