Jazz Roots celebrates Frank Sinatra’s centennial on March 11

Frank Sinatra Jr. will celebrate the life and times of his father with a concert performance at Miami’s Adrianne Arsht Center.

The Adrianne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County and Jazz Roots will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of Frank Sinatra’s birth with a concert by his son, Frank Sinatra Jr. The event is titled Sinatra Sings Sinatra, a Multi-Media Centennial Celebration, and will be taking place on March 11 at 8 p.m. at the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall.

During the night, vocalist Frank Sinatra Jr. will regale the audience with first-hand recollections of life on and off the stage with his father. He will also perform some of his father’s biggest hits, such as “Come Fly With Me,” “Strangers in the Night,” “New York, New York” and “My Way,” backed by a big band featuring many musicians who previously played with Sinatra Sr.

Sinatra Sings Sinatra, a Multi-Media Centennial Celebration is the fifth concert of the Jazz Roots 2015/16 season, which is also its 10th anniversary season.
