Jazz guitar greats will celebrate Joe Diorio’s birthday, August 10

Jazz-guitar greats will gather in New York City’s Zinc Bar to celebrate the 80th birthday of guitarist and educator Joe Diorio on August 10.


The event, titled “Joe Diorio at 80,” will feature performances by Gene Bertoncini, David Becker, Mark Egan, Vic Juris, Chris Morrison, Mark Whitfield, and Jack Wilkins, along with other surprise guests.


Joe Diorio’s career has spanned more than 50 years, during which he has recorded more than 20 albums as leader and many more with such artists as Anita O’Day, Stan Getz, Sonny Stitt and Horace Silver.
