Glauco Venier releases ECM solo debut album

Italian pianist Glauco Venier released his album Miniature on ECM Records on June 10. The album marks Venier’s solo debut for the label, having released three previous albums on ECM with singer Norma Winstone and clarinetist and saxophonist Klaus Gesing.

Miniatures comprises fifteen music vignettes, composed and improvised by the pianist. In addition to playing the piano, Venier augments the tracks with percussive sounds from a number of instruments, such as gongs, cymbals and bells.

Miniatures was produced by ECM label head Manfred Eicher and recorded at RSI Studios in Lugano, Switzerland.
