(Los Angeles, CA. Oct. 2020) – Each year the Los Angeles Jazz Society’s Jazz Tribute Awards Concert celebrates jazz and the talented people who have made this extraordinary music their life’s passion – all to raise funds for important jazz education programs, benefiting many thousands of young people in the LAUSD public schools and beyond each year.

This year, due to COVID restrictions, the Society is forced to change plans. Unable to gather together to celebrate, but determined to still present amazing jazz – Virtually! You won’t need to get your hair done or buy a new outfit, drive to the theatre and park – just stay home, sit back and relax and the concert will come to you via ZOOM.

On Wednesday, October 28th at 7:00 pm – LA Jazz Society presents “A Celebration – For the Love of Jazz.” This exceptional line-up of performers, hosted by LeRoy Downs, will include: Hubert Laws; Michael Feinstein; Barbara Morrison; Billy Childs, John Clayton, & Christian Euman; Tierney Sutton; Eric Reed; Gerald Clayton & Steve Lehman; Sara Gazarek; Katie Thiroux, Matt Witek & Justin Kauflin; Graham Dechter, Ryan Shaw & Alex Frank; with a few more surprises on the way.

The Los Angeles Jazz Society promises a spectacular event, with portions LIVE from The World Stage, which will benefit the many programs of the LA Jazz Society including Jazz in Schools, Bill Green Mentorship Program, New Note Commission, and LA Jazz Society Presents Young Musicians Showcase. The World Stage will also be a beneficiary of this concert.

The Los Angeles Jazz Society is dedicated to introducing thousands of young people to the joy of jazz and to identifying and nurturing young musicians.
