The Robert Glasper Experiment (RGX) will be on the road this fall in a co-headlining, limited-engagement tour with Common (of Fall Out Boy) and Marsha Ambrosius. Meanwhile, “I Stand Alone,” the second single from RGX’s forthcoming album, Black Radio 2 (set for an October 29 release), is now available through all digital retailers and streaming services. The track follows the lead radio single “Calls,” which features singer Jill Scott.
Black Radio Presents: Common & Marsha Ambrosius with Robert Glasper Experiment will make stops in New York City and Los Angeles, with stand-alone RGX dates interspersed in between.
The release of Black Radio 2 follows last year’s release of Black Radio, which won a Grammy for Best R&B Album.
RGX features Glasper (pictured above) on keyboards, Derrick Hodge on bass, Mark Colenburg on drums and Casey Benjamin on vocoder and saxophone. Providing the vocals on Black Radio 2 is a long list of guests, including Common, Patrick Stump, Brandy, Jill Scott, Dwele, Marsha Ambrosius, Anthony Hamilton, Faith Evans, Norah Jones, Snoop Dogg, Lupe Fiasco, Luke James, Emeli Sandé, Lalah Hathaway and Malcolm-Jamal Warner.
