On February 16, the powerful and beguiling jazz singer Dianne Reeves will launch her 2013 international tour with a performance at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium. Not only will Reeves have her longtime collaborators in tow—keyboardist Peter Martin, guitarist Romero Lumbabo, bassist Reginald Veal and drummer Terreon Gully—she’ll also welcome special guests Esperanza Spalding, Terri Lyne Carrington and George Duke to the stage.
During the last several years, Reeves has been touring the world in a variety of contexts, including Sing the Truth, a musical celebration of Nina Simone that also featured Lizz Wright and Angelique Kidjo. Reeves is also at work on a new album which will be her first in more than five years.
Reeves’ show at Carnegie Hall begins at 7:30. Tickets, priced from $30-$75, are available at the Carnegie Hall Box Office, 154 West 57th Street, New York, NY, or can be charged to major credit cards by calling CarnegieCharge at 212-247-7800 or by visiting the Carnegie Hall website at carnegiehall.org.
