Over the years, the Clearwater festival has evolved into a world-class affair. It began with musicians performing on flat-back trucks to sparse crowds. More recently, thousands gather in Coachman Park in downtown Clearwater—the site overlooks the Clearwater Harbor — to see A-list artists like Tony Bennett, Herbie Hancock, Branford Marsalis, Dr. John, Trombone Shorty, Dianne Reeves and many others. In addition to Fuller, this year’s line-up includes Bonnie Raitt, Esperanza Spalding, Mindi Abair, Kurt Elling, and Down To The Bone.
All told, it’s a fine festival in a lovely setting. The weather in Clearwater in mid-October promises to be mild and lovely. And when you feel like taking a break from all the music, there are miles of beautiful beaches to walk.
