From November 1-27, Chick Corea will perform more than 40 times with 10 different lineups at the Blue Note in Manhattan. Basically, the Greenwich Village club will be hosting a month-long celebration of the keyboardist’s 70th birthday, and, as the schedule below clearly indicates, some of the most fabulous jazz talent on the planet will be joining in the festivities.
November 1-2: Return to Forever Unplugged
November 3: Chick, Gary Peacock, Paul Motian
November 4-6: Five Peace Band (John McLaughlin, John Patitucci, Kenny Garrett and Brian Blade)
November 8-10: Chick and Bobby McFerrin
November 11-13: Chick and Gary Burton, plus the Harlem String Quartet
November 15-17: From Miles (Chick, Eddie Gomez, Jack DeJohnette, Wallace Roney and Gary Bartz)
November 18-20: Chick’s Flamenco Heart (Nino Joselle, Carles Benavant, Jorge Pardo, Jeff Ballard and vocalist Concha Buika)
November 22: Duet with Marcus Roberts
November 23: Duet with Herbie Hancock
Nov 25-27: Original Elektric Band (Chick, John Patitucci, Eric Marienthal, Dave Weckl and Frank Gambale)
