The line-up has been announced for the seventh annual season of “Jazz Roots — A Larry Rosen Jazz Series.” The 2014-15 season, which will commence in November 2014 and conclude in April 2015, amounts to six programs that will feature a range of performers including Dianne Reeves, Al Jarreau, David Sanborn, Kirk Whalum (pictured above), Nnenna Freelon, Ramsey Lewis, Arturo Sandoval, Gregory Porter and Michael Feinstein. All of the concerts will take place at the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall in Miami.
“Jazz is America’s music and it has been my quest throughout my professional career to educate and entertain audiences about our musical heritage,” says Jazz Roots co-creator and producer Larry Rosen. “‘Jazz Roots’ has set a new standard for presenting jazz to audiences by creating a concert series that celebrates the music of the Americas, featuring award-winning artists at a world-class performing arts center. The program engages the community and educates its young people. Our 2014-15 season presented by Wells Fargo will blow audiences away.”
