April 3, 2009, at the Hawaii State Capitol, Henry was acknowledged by the Senate of the 25th Legislature of the State of Hawaii as a “musician extraordinaire”, names “One of Hawaii’s Living Treasures” for his “Lifetime Achievement Legacy Award” on April 4, 2009, from Hawaii‘s Music Foundation and recognized at the Hawaii Music Awards, as a top Jazz Guitarist and Master Hawaiian steel guitarist Henry K. Allen is getting his due. Allen has recorded with George Benson, Wayne Henderson and Bobby Lyle and East of the Sun, West of the Moon is a great way to get to know him. Available on Rainbow Records.
